MapleStory Pirate Job Advancement
Pirate 1st Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 10, with 20 DEX)
Head to Nautilus Port and find Kairin. talking to her about “Path of the Pirate” should put you to Level 10. To be as ready as you can be, have a Lvl 10 Beginner waiting in “Forest East of Henesys“
Pirate 2nd Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 30)
Head back over to Nautilus Port and talk to Kairin. She’ll give you two options; One for Infighter and one for Gunslinger. Choose “Gunslinger” and then talk to Kairin again. Click the very bottom option. She’ll warp you to a map with small Octopi that you must kill. Here’s the catch: You must use Straight/Double Shot to kill them. Moon Kick will only “MISS” them. Once you’ve collected all 15 items from those octopi, talk to Kairin again. She’ll warp you back to Nautilus Port (inside her room, of course). Talk to her once again and she’ll advance you to Gunslinger/Infighter.
Pirate 3rd Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 70)
If you’ve made it to level 70 on another character, you know how this goes. Once you get to level 70, head off to El Nath. Once there, go to the Chief’s Residence, where the Third Job instructors are. Talk to Pedro (ペドロ) and he’ll tell you to head back to Kairin in Nautilus Port to gather the Necklace of Strength. Head back to Kairin and talk to her for your next assignment. She’ll tell you that you must defeat her clone in order to past the test to prove yourself worthy of the Necklace of Strenght. Go to the Cave of Evil Eye III and talk to the Door of Demension. This will transport you to another map where you head toward the battle with fake Kairin. Defeat the clone and collect the rubble piece that fake Kairin drops. Take that back to Kairin and she’ll reward you with the Necklace of Strength. Head back to Pedro in El Nath and give him the Necklace of Strength. He’ll then tell you that you must pass one final test; the knowledge test. Head to Sharp Cliff II and go in the wooden door on the top right part of the map. Walk down and talk to the large stone to begin your knowledge test. Once you have obtained the Necklace of Wisdom, head back to Pedro and give him the necklace. Congratulations! You are now a Buccaneer/Valkyrie!

MapleStory Warrior Job Advancement
Warrior 1st Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 10, with 35 STR)
Go to the Shrine of Warriors which is located at the highest point of Perion. Talk to “Dances with Balrog” and he’ll advance you as a Warrior if you have the requirement stats.
Warrior 2nd Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 30)
Head back to Shrine of Warriors once you’ve reached Lv 30, which is located at the highest point of Perion. Go inside, talk to “Dances with Balrog”. He’ll give you a letter and you’ve to pass it to the job advancement instructor near Perion. After giving the letter, you’ll be given an errand to collect 30 Dark Marbles by defeating the monsters inside. Be careful to stock your potions up before you start collecting the 30 Dark Marbles.
Once you’ve collected 30 Dark Marbles, talk to the instructor, and he’ll award you with a Proof of a Hero. Go back to Perion’s Shrine Warrior, and talk to “Dances with Balrog” once again, where then you’ll advance as the Page/Fighter/Spearman.
Warrior 3rd Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 70)
Go to El Nath - Chief Residence and speak to Tylus. After talking to Tylus, head back to Victoria Island and talk to “Dances with Balrog” which is located in Perion. Next, find the Door of Dimension located at Ant Tunnel Park and it’ll bring you to “The Path of the Glittering Crystal”. Walk until the end of the path and enter the portal to defeat the wiseman’s dark side to obtain the Black Charm.
Return to “Dances with Balrog” and exchange the Black Charm for a Necklace of Strength. Return to El Nath after that and give the item to Tylus. Head on to the Holy Ground at the Snowfield (Sharp Cliff II). 1 Dark Crystal is requirred to answer 5 questions to obtain the Necklace of Wisdom. Again, head back to Tylus in El Nath and give him the Necklace of Wisdom.

MapleStory Bowman Job Advancement
Bowman 1st Job Advancement (Requirements: Level 10, with 25 DEX)
Head to Bowman Instructional School in Henesys where you’ll find Athena Pierce. Talk to her, and she will advance you as a Bowman if you’ve the requirement stats.
Bowman 2nd Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 30)
Go to Bowman Instructional School in Henesys once you’ve reached Lv 30. Go inside, talk to Athena Pierce. She’ll give you a letter and you’ve to pass it to the job advancement instructor near Henesys. After giving the letter, you’ll be given an errand to collect 30 Dark Marbles by defeating the monsters inside. Be careful to stock your potions up before you start collecting the 30 Dark Marbles.
Once you’ve collected 30 Dark Marbles, talk to the instructor, and the instructor will award you with a Proof of a Hero. Go back to Henesys’s Instructional Bowman School, and talk to Athena Pierce once again, where then you’ll advance as the Crossbowman/Hunter.
Bowman 3rd Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 70)
Go to El Nath - Chief Residence and speak to Rene. After talking to Rene, head back to Victoria Island and talk to Athena Pierce which is located in Henesys. Next, find the Door of Dimension located at Sleepy Dungeon V and it’ll bring you to “The Path of the Glittering Crystal”. Walk until the end of the path and enter the portal to defeat the wiseman’s dark side to obtain the Black Charm.
Return to Athena Pierce and exchange the Black Charm for a Necklace of Strength. Return to El Nath after that and give the item to Rene. Head on to the Holy Ground at the Snowfield (Sharp Cliff II). 1 Dark Crystal is requirred to answer 5 questions to obtain the Necklace of Wisdom. Again, head back to Rene in El Nath and give her the Necklace of Wisdom.

MapleStory Magician Job Advancement
Magician 1st Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 8, with 20 INT)
Go to the Magic Library which is located at the highest point of Ellinia, where you’ll meet up with Grendel the Really Old. Talk to him and he’ll advance you as a Magician if you’ve the requirement stats.
Magician 2nd Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 30)
Once you’ve reached Lv 30, go back to Ellinia’s Magic Library, which is located at the highest point of Ellinia. Go inside, talk to Grendel the Really Old. He’ll give you a letter and you’ve to pass it to the job advancement instructor located at the north of Ellinia. After giving the letter, you’ll be given an errand to collect 30 Dark Marbles by defeating the monsters inside. Be careful to stock your potions up before you start collecting the 30 Dark Marbles.
Once you’ve collected 30 Dark Marbles, talk to the instructor, and he’ll award you with a Proof of a Hero. Go back to Ellinia’s Magic Library, and talk to Grendel the Really Old once again, where then you’ll advance as the Cleric/Fire-Poison/Ice-Lightning
Magician 3rd Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 70)
Go to El Nath - Chief Residence and speak to Robeira. After talking to Robeira, head back to Victoria Island and talk to “Grendel the Really Old” which is located in Ellinia. Next, find the Door of Dimension located at Forest of Evil II and it’ll bring you to “The Path of the Glittering Crystal”. Walk until the end of the path and enter the portal to defeat the wiseman’s dark side to obtain the Black Charm.
Return to “Grendel the Really Old” and exchange the Black Charm for a Necklace of Strength. Return to El Nath after that and give the item to Robeira. Head on to the Holy Ground at the Snowfield (Sharp Cliff II). 1 Dark Crystal is requirred to answer 5 questions to obtain the Necklace of Wisdom. Again, head back to Robeira in El Nath and give her the Necklace of Wisdom.

MapleStory Thief Job Advancement
Thief 1st Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 10, with 25 DEX)
Proceed to the Thieves’ Hideaway at a basement of a cafe in Kerning City. In there, you’ll find the Dark Lord. Talk to him, and you’ll be advance as Thief if you’ve the requirement stats.
Thief 2nd Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 30)
Head back to Thieves’ Hideaway once you’ve reached Lv 30, which is located at the cafe in Kerning City. Go inside, talk to Dark Lord. He’ll give you a letter and you’ve to pass it to the job advancement instructor near Kerning City. After giving the letter, you’ll be given an errand to collect 30 Dark Marbles by defeating the monsters inside. Be careful to stock your potions up before you start collecting the 30 Dark Marbles.
Once you’ve collected 30 Dark Marbles, talk to the instructor, and he’ll award you with a Proof of a Hero. Go back to Kerning City Thieves’ Hideaway, and talk to Dark Lord once again, where then you’ll advance as the Bandit/Assassin
Thief 3rd Job Advancement (Requirement: Level 70)
Go to El Nath - Chief Residence and speak to Arec. After talking to Arec, head back to Victoria Island and talk to Dark Lord which is located in Kerning City. Next, find the Door of Dimension located at Monkey Swamp II and it’ll bring you to “The Path of the Glittering Crystal”. Walk until the end of the path and enter the portal to defeat the wiseman’s dark side to obtain the Black Charm.
Return to Dark Lord and exchange the Black Charm for a Necklace of Strength. Return to El Nath after that and give the item to Arec. Head on to the Holy Ground at the Snowfield (Sharp Cliff II). 1 Dark Crystal is requirred to answer 5 questions to obtain the Necklace of Wisdom. Again, head back to Arec in El Nath and give him the Necklace of Wisdom.

Dear Maplers,

Due to several glitches and bugs faced in the version 0.58 MapleStory client, an updated new client version 0.59 is released on the 23rd June 2008 to solve the following problems:

1) Premature end of Evil Jar Quest
This quest has prematurely ended a week earlier on the 22nd June 2008 due to an unexpected glitch. The Evil Jar quest items will be removed from the item inventory in version 0.59 game client. As a token of appreciation for your understanding in this matter, the 2x EXP events that are activated through the Evil Jar quests will continue to run on the 28th & 29th June 2008 (Sat & Sun) from 1400hrs to 1600hrs (+8 GMT).

2) White scroll Error
Players who had lost their White Scrolls while scrolling their equipment will be reimbursed. Please make your way to NPC Tia to receive your reimbursement of White Scrolls.

3) Sparkling Ring Error
The ring has been removed from the Cash Shop as it had caused a disconnection error. For players who had purchased the Sparkling Rings, we had removed them from the item inventories and since reimburse the purchaser with 6,500 Maple Points.

We seek your understanding in these matters and thank you for your warmest support all these while.

Dear Maplers,

There will be an urgent server check on the 22nd June 2008 from 1230 hrs (+8 GMT) beginning soon in Aquila, Bootes, Cassiopeia, Delphinus and Eridanus worlds. The game service will be down in channel sequence.

Please do not access the affected channels mentioned in the slide notice to prevent any item loss. Other channels will not be affected.
